Flush Mount Aluminum Hatch

We fabricate custom hatches and hatch frames ready to drop in your boat deck. We also have a hatch which includes a welded dry storage box or livewell integrated with the hatch.

Our CNC formed hatch channel is designed to integrate the mounting flange, drainage channel, and seal ledge with a single component. This means that the hatch frame only needs to be welded at the corners and there will be minimal distortion and bowing in the frame.

Standard features:

  • Welded aluminum piano hinge.
  • Drain hole in channel with welded hose barb.
  • Rubber hatch seal.

Dimensions

  • The hatch ordering dimensions are based on the cutout opening to fit the hatch.
  • The cutout will be 4″ larger than the clear hatch opening dimension.
  • The overall length and width with the mounting flange is 3″ larger than your cutout.

Hatch Base Construction *

You must select this option which accounts for the base cost of fabricating the hatch of any size.

Flange Holes and Fasteners

We can machine the holes in the flange for mounting or leave it undrilled in case you are welding or need to make your own hole pattern. For pre-drilled holes, choose whether you want to use machine screws w/ nuts and washers or if you want to use self tapping screws. All hardware is 316 stainless steel.

Latch Selection *

Choose your latch type. You can look at pictures of the latches at the bottom of the page. If you want to use a different latch than what is listed, let us know and we can CNC cut the mounting holes.

Locking Latch? *

Locking latches are provided with a set of 2 keys.

Surface Finish *

Your hatch can be left bare aluminum or be powder coated. The latch will not be powder coated. Powder coating adds 1-2 weeks to the lead time.

Center stiffener *

Add a centerline stiffener if your hatch is greater than 24″ and will be walked on. The stiffener is installed parallel to the longest edge. We typicall use 2″x1″x1/8″ channel for the stiffener but this will be adapted dependign on your hatch size.

Lid Support *

Choose a lid support.
