Cajun Anchor Bracket – Motor Mount

Heavy duty TIG welded aluminum brackets for guiding your cajun anchor (aka shallow water anchor or spud anchor).

Cajun anchors are a simple and inexpensive way to hold your boat in a shallow water fishing spot. A cajun anchor is a 3/4″ round sharpened metal bar that sticks in the mud. Our unique brackets provide a vertical guide for the poles for easy deployment and retrieval.

Standard Dimensions:

  • Guide Pipe: 8″ long x 1″ sch 40 pipe (1.315″ OD/1.05″ ID)
  • Mounting holes: Universal outboard pattern spacing – 8.0 inches vertically and 1.5″ laterally.
  • The guide pole is tilted 10 degrees towards the transom so it sits vertically on most raked transoms. (We can customize this angle if you have a flat transom or extreme rake).
  • Delrin barrel liner bushing is included (.80″, 1.05″, 1.38″ ID for the bushing depending on guide pipe selection).

Setback and Clearances

  • From the center of the top mounting bolt, the outside of the guide pipe lands about 9″ left/right and 4″ aft. This varies some depending on guidepipe size and single or double barrel.
  • Customize: if you need to meet certain clearances for ladders, transducers, etc., just put that information in your order notes when you check out and we will customize a bracket for you.

Options:

  • Choose port or starboard mount or a matching pair.
  • Large 1-1/4″ (1.66″ OD/1.38″ ID) guide pipe for larger diameter fiberglass anchors
  • Extra large 1-1/2″ (1.9″ OD/1.61″ ID) guide pipe for 1″ sch 40 pipe push poles and spud poles.
  • Double-barrel w/ 1 closed end pipe for holstering.
  • Powder coating

The lead time for this product is approximately 1 weeks

Port, Starboard, or Matching Pair *

Choose which side you want to mount the anchor on.
There is a $20 discount on each bracket for ordering a matching pair. You must add 2 of these items to the cart to receive a matching pair. Using 2 anchors will prevent your boat from rotating.

Guide Pipe Size *

The smaller guide pipe is suitable for 3/4″ metal anchor pins. Many fiberglass 2 piece poles require the larger 1-1/4″ guide pipe due to the size of the connecting fittings. If you are using a push pole or spud anchor with 1″ sch 40 pipe, choose the XL guide.

Finish *

Choose bare aluminum or powder coating. Powder coating will add 2 weeks to the lead time.

Single or Double Barrel *

The double barrel has a second guide pipe which is closed at the end so you don’t have to get mud in your boat on retrieval. Just drop the anchor pole in the closed pipe and ride to the next spot. Note: we don’t recommend high speed travel, rough water, or trailering with the anchor in the bracket.
